latest Irish fighter to join the ProKick Gym
man Mark Stewart is the latest signing to the Prokick Gym. The 24
year old has a 15 fight record and has won Ulster & Irish titles
- the light-welterweight will join the likes of world champion Gary
Hamilton and European champion Lydia Braniff to name just a few
of the champions at ProKick.
Mark said: "Its clear that Mr Murray is Ireland's biggest and
best fight promoter, I'm really glad that he has agreed to look
after my career and I'm excited to get the chance to fight on one
of his events, which I'll prove that Ballymena kickboxers can hold
their own against the the very best out there". Mark went on
to explained: "I started kickboxing under Martin Donnelly of
the White Tiger association, but Martin had to stop all his classes
in this part of the country because of his increasing work commitments.
I'm still friends with Martin and would like to publicly thank him
for all he has done for me - however I have to move onwards and
upwards and for me there's only one group who can do that for me
and that's ProKick."
" Mark has been out for about a year now and in that time he's
been here a few times training and seems to enjoy what we do here,
he is a bit rough around the edges but after a year-out you can
expect that - we will soon fix that. He has agreed to travel two
- three times a week for training, that alone is over a 80 mile
round trip that is the showing me a commitment before there's even
one round of sparring done. Time will tell if he has got what it
take but what I've seen so far is impressive." Said the former
world beater Billy Murray.
