Brooklands Cup
Some weeks ago we reported that over 200 east Belfast school-kids and their parents found out what it really means to be a champion during a unique event at Brooklands primary school in Dundonald.
After the pupils took part in a special training session, taken by former world kickboxing champ Billy Murray, designed to promote exercise in a fun way.
Brookland’s head Mr D McCartney and his assistant Mrs Clare Walker presented Murray with a silver cup to commemorate the special occasion.
The cup now rotates weekly with the Prokick kids for the most improved junior kickboxer of the week. This award takes into account – good attitude, improvement in technique, respect to others and attendance. A shield will also be supplied with 52 plaques and the student with the most names at the end of the year receives and keeps the cup with the shield put on display at the Prokick Gym for all to see. Week one was won by Summer Lily Murray, this weeks winner was Eoin Cullen.
