Team ProKick 'boxing team' looking fresh faced and confident before their trip to Kilkenny

Fresh from their fights on October 30 in Belfast, Prokick fighters have jumped at the opportunity to compete in a white collar boxing event being staged in the Republic of Ireland TODAY. Peter Rusk, Darren McMullan and johnny Smith are among 10 competitors who will represent Belfast’s Prokick Gym in Kilkenny today on December 4. Prokick’s head coach Billy Murray has turned his students’ focus to Queensbury Rules and is confident his team will impress in the competition.

What a difference a year makes - on this day last year Murray's squad faced Ernesto Hoost team in Japan for the Hoost challenge Cup and fought the Japanese to a draw under K-1 rules - a year later to the day we're in Kilkenny South of Ireland and team ProKick are still competing and weather it's in America, Europe, Japan or at home Billy Murray's ProKick team come to fight.

" Most of my fighters know a little thing or two about boxing and some of them have competed as amateurs in the past. Boxing and kickboxing may seem similar disciplines but they are very different when it comes to skills, co-ordination and technique.

“I was amazed at the number of fighters who took up the invitation to compete. Each one of them will work hard over the last four weeks to improve their boxing skill and knowledge.” The Prokick members travelling to Kilkenny for what should be an intriguing event are: Tam McKee, Pawel Stemerowicz, Darren McMullan, Johnny Smith, Karl McBlain, Anne Gallagher, Bailie McClinton, Steven Forde and Peter Rusk.
