Gary Hamilton (N. Ireland) Vs Aubrey Tarr (N. Ireland) under Full contact rules - this prestige kickboxing bout was the headliner of the night and it lived up to all expectations billed as the ‘Battle of Belfast’. No one could deny that after watching Gary Hamilton’s performance that he is in a class of his own in the style of Full-Contact and no one should say that Aubrey Tarr is not a tough and durable fighter.

It was a one- sided affair from the first to the last bell in a scheduled five rounder. Hamilton had Tarr on the canvas with a straight right hand in the opening round as Tarr fell for one of the oldest tricks in the book. From then on the gusty Ballysillan man Tarr had a mountain to climb. Tarr was still trying making a competitive match right to the final bell – Tarr's golden opportunity in causing an up-set was never on the card. The judges had no difficulty with this one as it was a shut-out on all judges’ cards in favour of Hamilton.
Gary was honoured to receive his winning trophy by K1 Kickboxing Legend Ernesto Hoost.

Barrie Oliver (N. Ireland) Vs Mustapha Ahdala (France) Low kick - The Killinchy fighter, Oliver got the nod for his cleaner work in the 1st & 2nd rounds. Ahdala left his challenge a little bit too late as he clearly won the 3rd and final round – Oliver still unbeaten, is now ready for an amateur Irish title. Barrie also picked up the Gong for the Student of the year in 2007.

Mark Bird (N. Ireland) Vs Alex Lorenzoni (Corsica) Low kick - Great things are destined for young Bird – but it may take a little longer than planned – as its back to basics With a hard lesson of ‘You got to keep your hands up’ Young Mark dropped his hands in the opening round and was caught with a high round house kick which put a dampener on his win of up-n-coming fighter at the glitzy awards.

Ian Young (N. Ireland) Vs Jamal Wahib (France) low kick - it wasn’t quite the revenge the former football star Young, was looking for against Jamal Wahib of France when just three months ago the Saintfield man was knocked out by the hard hitting Jamal in a controversial match in Switzerland. in rounds 1 and 2 Young was landing the better low and high kicks as he kept to a game plan. It was more of an even 3rd round as the French fighter pushed forward and harried Young putting him on the back foot. In the 4th Jamal sensed he needed a big last round – ‘and that’s what he did’ he had Young constantly off balance not allowing him to work. The Judges couldn’t split them and awarded a draw.
We await the trilogy with baited breath!
