- If there is ever a fighter deservers to be a champion it's got to be battler Stuart Jess - he is a fighter with so much dedication, a true fighter at heart and at times too brave for his own good. Saying that - nothing can be taken away from him, two weight divisions out of his category just for a shot at the title. He may have lost the challenge to be crowned King of the European Light-middleweights - but didn't the champion know he was in a fight - Jess not known for his fineness in the ring pushed forward taking the fight to the champion, hassling and hurrying the Englishman Chris mcCartie throughout the seven very competitive rounds.
Well done to Chris McCartie and his team.
" I'm pleased with both lads tonight."Said ProKick coach Billy Murray. " Mikey also fought in a heavier weight division, took the fight at one week notice. He wasn't match fit and didn't start working the way we know he can until the last two rounds. He was disappointed but I'm not. How many fighters would take a fight at that notice drive about 200 miles fight five rounds and travel home on the same day, not many!"
Murray finished be saying: "These are the type of deeds that build characters but more so - make champions"
Thanks to Mr Ron Grey, Grand Master Goff and all their team for the opportunity to challenge for the titles
