Refereee David Irving scored the bout 98 - 95 in Gormans favour to the approval of the east Belfast man's supporters.
Gorman paid respect to Kickboxer Hamilton saying "You can see why he's kickboxing world champion and to come from kickboxing to boxing isn't easy and I respect him as a fighter. I proved tonight that I'm more than a journeyman."
A delighted former boxing legend now turned British Boxing board official Hugh Russell said, "This was a great night for boxing, a six fight card, good value for money, a well run show, good fans and good competitive matches and a Northern Ireland title fight. Unfortunately there has to be a loser but really there is none as boxing is the winner here tonight."
Congratulations are in order to Husband and wife team Alan and Jane Wilton that have rejuvenated professional boxing in East Belfast.
