Thanks also to the Referee, The MC of the Day, the Doctor on duty, the ambulance Staff, the Promoters , the Sponsors, the superb crowd, who through their very vocal support and encouragement provided an electric atmosphere for the fights, and not least of all, to Pro Kick, MMA Lurgan, Golden Dragon MA, Ken Horan KB, & Gan Teora club members, whom all provided a real ‘knock out ’ of a show ( oops forgive the boxing pun ! ) they were all magnificent warriors, and brought great honour to their respective clubs, much pride to their coaches , and intense excitement to the captivated crowd .
The reception we received on arriving was unbelievable . After the weigh in, registration, & medical we were ushered up to our changing area where we we most kindly provided with tea coffee and Sanbos ! What is going on here I was saying to myself, this can’t be happening, is this a honey trap , are we being lured into a false ense of security , the ‘ham’ before the storm !! I need’nt have worried it was great hospitality . The camaraderie between the fighters was also a gerat feature of the Day for me . Every one was friendly and helpful and wishing the best for each other .
I have to say I was blown away ( oops another unintended pun ) by the experience which was as Professional a show as I have ever seen on Sky Sports TV ....laser lights, intro music, raucous crowd, MC, Referee, Ringside Judges, Video cameras, corner men, coaches, Medics and trophies, I could’nt believe that I was actually playing a part
of it and had to pinch myself , until of course I got into the Ring and Mark Winters my opponent woke me up fairly quickly ! What a scrap . I really enjoyed it and regret so much not taking it into a third round ! Well done to you again Mark , you had a great fight . Oh yeah ,When is the rematch ? The Kickboxing public want it . It would be a sell out . Was’nt there a clause in our contract for a second fight ? My People will contact your People ..it will be ‘box’ office, we’ll get a great ‘kick’ out of it , bring it on ! Joking aside, good luck with your next fight .
Many thanks not just from me but on behalf of all the Guys, Girls , and our coaches ,Joe and Paula , at Gan Teora Kick Boxing Club, Synge St, Dublin 8.
I look forward to the rematch !

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your message . I look forward to a review of the fight from your DVD. Thanks so much I really appreciate you sending it to me .
As to the fight I take great encoragement from your comments maybe it was’nt all that bad from my point of view.
My memories are somewhat clouded by the barrage of blows raining down on me from you in round 2 ! Fair play to you .
I absoloutly agree with you about application, committment, dedication and training . It is so true to say that if one believes enough and applies themselves through hard work , committment and conviction, they can achieve their goals no matter what .
I like the bit about the ‘madness’ , I guess everyone needs a bit of madness to go for it and achieve ones targets . I must definitely be mad, because my coach has entered me for another fight on 19th September ! Should be a blast .
Good Luck in your training .
Kind regards
Mark Lord

Hi Mark ,DVD is on its way, I will send it via Your Club..unles you wish to send me your address via a private email to prokick @ .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) as it might get to you quicker that way.
Ref watching it behind the Sofa, absolutly not..
We in my opinion could not have been matched better by Mr Murray and your coach Mr Joe Canning, not just with age but also fitness, We stood toe to toe and fought a great battle and the crowd loved it…
Both of us took a standing count a few times and is something I will always remember..
I Never imagined me ever doing such a thing as i only started with prokick a year ago, but it just shows you what a person can do by just giving it a go..
Hard training and devotion was key to us stepping into the ring and we both showed that no matter what the situtuion or circumstances…
Anyone can do it given training and heart and a little bit of madness..lol
Enjoy the DVD
Yours in sport and friendship
Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your message .Yeah I can so much identify with your thoughts going into the ring on Sunday. I have to admit that they were hugely tense moments leading up to the fight and the boxing promo that preceded our Bout seemed to draw out the wait even longer . Torture ..and then the fight !! Ugghh .
As to the Purse for our rematch lets give Sky Sports the rights to broadcast it to a global audience . I think HBO have gone to the Dogs in recent years putting on swan songs for past their best fighters . Whereas Sky Sports cover up and coming talent like us ! Lets face it , and as the MC said on Sunday , we first timers represent the future of the Sport .
Thanks for the offer of a copy of the DVD . Sounds cool . However, I have a request , can we delete round two from the DVD ? It might be a case of watching a horror movie for me . I think that I may end up watching our fight from behind the sofa with my hands half covering my face .
Good Luck with the training .
Regards

HI Mark, Great to hear from you and im sure everyone involved really appreaciate your thanks..
I totally agree about how professional the event was and made it so much more real and alive..It was the most exciting yet nervous experience of my life, and although it involved fighting, i really did enjoy it…
Now what about this box office contract of a rematch, surely the biggest battle here is just what exactly our purses would be..
There was so much friendship amongst all teams and the craic was great, our corners knew how we were feeling after our fast paced match as im sure they have all been there so many times before, and to be honest its a feeling that is hard to describe..the adrenalin approaching that ringside was intense, then before you know it, your in there fighting, then its over…
The DVD will be a great nights viewing and ill make sure I send you a copy Mark when its been produced…
