Josh Barnett was to face reputed lb-for-lb toughest MMA fighters on the planet - Fedor Emelianenko in the main event of "Affliction: Trilogy" at the Honda Center.
Barnett was denied the right-to-fight by the California State Athletic Commission last week after the commission had knowledge that Barnett had tested positive for anabolic steroids last month.
Affliction Entertainment vice president Mr Tom Atencio said finding a replacement for Barnett "was a huge endeavor, and I'm thrilled at the amount of fighters willing to take on this challenge."
"But in the end, we just didn't have enough time to promote a new fight to our standards," Mr Atencio said.
What happens to the Affliction undercard fights are they permitted to fight on other events or are they shut-out from other promotions? We will try and bring you this information.

Affliction have cancelled its MMA show which was set for Aug 1st in LA. A main event fighters - Josh Barnett failed a steroids test, and not the first time at that. Barnett's history, which includes a victory over Randy Couture for the UFC heavyweight title March 2002 — although Barnett was stripped of the title for another positive steroids test.
