“Like every single person in the gym, I am so incredibly proud of Daniel and feel for him and his mates every day considering what they are going through in that war,” said Murray.
“There are a lot of fine athletes in ProKick, a lot of fighters who show no fear when the bell sounds and they step alone out into the unforgiving glare of the ring. But any of them would be hard pushed to show the bravery of young Daniel. It’s his second tour of duty and he’s telling me he is planning to sign up for another four year commission next year when his current term comes to an end.“
"I wish Daniel and his squad a safe return from that troubled land.”
Stewart is son of Robin, one of the founding members of ProKick and someone who himself has 20 years in the sport. He paid tribute to the grounding the sport had given his brave lad.
“The kickboxing training for youngsters is a great grounding for any young person growing up now days,” he said. “I’m glad my boy Dan had the time to pop in and say hello to some of the kicking kids before he heads off to finish his tour which ends in December. I hope he is an inspirational for them as he is for our family.”
