Happier days - Rogan and Breen on a high after winning the Commonwealth crown against Matt Skelton
Boxer Rogan splits from long-time coach, Breen
Prizefighter champion and former Commonwealth boxing champion Martin Rogan has parted company from long-term coach and mentor John Breen. And all ahead of his important rematch against Sam Sexton for the Commonwealth crown on October 9 at the Odyssey Arena Belfast.
Rogan, under Breen's guidance, had successes with first the Prizefighter, then stunning victories over Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton. Shortly after Rogan suffered the first defeat of his career when he was controversially stopped by Sexton in May of this year.
Is this a wise decision so close to the rematch, that Rogan splits from Breen? We would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Yeah, it is a shocker, here’s a little more on it. I’m sure as the days and weeks unfold so will the facts behind the split.
John is a good coach - my own views are he should have stayed put, but we don’t know what’s going on behind the doors of the gym.

The Breen team ends – much to the disappointment of john Breen as he spoke to the Belfast Telegraph.
Breen said: “It came right out of the blue. I came back from holiday and Martin came up to the house and said he didn’t want me to train him.
“He was training in the St John Bosco gym rather than mine and said he didn’t want me to have to travel up there and give me that pressure.
“But hand on heart I wish him well and I hope he wins back the Commonwealth title.
“I thought I did a good job with Martin. Not many would have thought 18 months ago he could have achieved so much when he was struggling to get a fight so it is disappointing it has come to this.â€

wOW WHAT A SHOCKER.
Theres obviously some controversy as to why martin and breen have parted company…
Sometimes when the big guns roll into town they tend to swallow up the smaller more dedicated guys like martin and breen.
After all this next event is gonna be a big one, audience and tv viewer wise, so money talks.
Was it money, who knows..
Obviously Something has happened to cause such a split, has it been an amicable split?
John Breen has brought martin to were he is so why this has happened so close to the fight in october is quite odd..
Im still gonna be there for this event..
Sporting my Prokick hoodie..lol
