Brian Magee not ready to hang-up gloves yet
BELFAST former world WBA super middleweight champion Brian Magee, said he's not ready to hang his gloves up just yet. Magee may have lost to Danish favourite Mikkel Kessler in August last year and after that the the 37 year-old was expected to call time on a great boxing career.
Rumours of Magee’s retirement may be just that, rumours. As the former British, European and World champion has plans to have a number of fights in 2014.
Talking recently to the Belfast News Letter Magee said: “I will be back in the ring before the summer and I have been offered a few 12 round fights but I would rather have a six or eight rounder to get me back into it. I still have a few fights left in me, but they have to be fights that are right for me at this stage of my career,”
Magee told the Belfast Newsletter before commenting on the launch of his Magee Health and Fitness Gym in Blackstaff Road in Belfast.
