The Northern Irish ace Carl 'The Jackal' Frampton, 27, said:
“Throughout the last year we’ve been in discussions with Golden Boy Promotions about fighting Santa Cruz and the communications between both parties have been very good.
“Everyone wants to get it sorted and they’re sending representatives over to Belfast to see the fight. Whether or not Leo is coming, I don’t know, but he might want to back out once he hears my Belfast crowd. We haven’t ruled out fighting at a big venue like Ravenhill Stadium either.
“Las Vegas might be an option or maybe the east coast because a lot of Northern Irishmen live there. Wherever the fight happens though I think I’d beat him. I want Santa Cruz and I’d fight him tomorrow – one hundred per cent.”

Hi
Just watched an interview with Santa Cruz and it is looking like Scott Quigg will be the one facing Cruz in his next fight. Cruz was very respectful towards Frampton and acknowledged that he thought Frampton was better than Quigg, with better attributes and a strong right hand, who comes forward and doesn’t back off like a Mexican fighter, but Quigg has a belt, Carl doesn’t and Cruz wants Quiggs belt, then he will fight Frampton possibly in November or December.
Cruz comes across as a very confident young man, I’ll fight Carl after I beat Quigg : Scott Quigg and his trainer Gallagher will just love that.
On the subject of Mexicans, Adrain the problem Broner has been suspended for making Racist Comments after his recent fight for saying he had just beat the ***** out of a Mexican. Don’t you just love it when the shoes on the other foot. Broner was not at all impressive in the fight, he still looks like a fat Light Welterweight, he hasn’t carried the power with him, the first proper Welterweight he meets will knock him out.
Congratulations to Amir Khan, Amir was brilliant in his last fight against a highly rated , strong , hard hitting Welterweight , Colloza never won a round, he was taken to school and given a hiding, one judge scored it 119 to 105. . He looked really impressive having stepped up to Welterweight, his first fight under new trainer Virgil Hunter, he was different class. He outshone the Floyd Mayweather v Maldina fight and has maybe made Mayweather think again about fighting him next. Regards.

Hi
Just read the sad news about John Joe Nevin, Irish Featherweight Olympic Silver Medallist.
John Joe was seriously assaulted last Saturday night in his town of Mullingar and it has now been confirmed that he has had both his legs broken and will be in a wheelchair for a few months as he recovers from his injuries.
John Joe now faces a lengthy period of convalescence , it will be a difficult period for this young man so I would like to wish him well and hope that he is able to resume his boxing career in the future. Regards.

Hi
Young Carl had an impressive victory on Friday night in his World Title eliminator against Mexican Hugo Cazares. Cazares was a former two weight World Champion at Light Fly and Super Flyweight, so no mug then. Carl knocked him out in round 2 , some are not giving young Carl his dues saying Cazares should not have been so highly rated by the WBC and that he was past his prime, Scott Quigg said Cazaras was an overblown Flyweight , careful Scott, you might just get your wish and end up in the ring facing Frampton.
You can only beat who they put in front of you, if the WBC say the Eliminator fight is between A and B then that’s that, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, Frampton destroyed Cazaras, a tough Mexican, who was last stopped in 1999, and has now earned the right to face Santa Cruz the current WBC Super Bantamweight Champion, Cruz is recognised as a great champion so it should be a great fight when they get it on.
The Gallagher Camp and Quigg can form an orderly queue if young Carl succeeds and becomes WBC Champion, because they will be well down the pecking order. In short the Quigg camp needs the Frampton fight Carl doesn’t need him.
We are now into the final week of our own Big Fight Day, next Sunday Pro Kicks Team of youngsters, teenagers, novices and established fighters will be stepping into the ring at the Holiday Inn, doors open 4pm, if you haven’t got a ticket yet then hurry up it’s a big fight card and deserves your support. Good luck to everyone at Team Pro Kick next Sunday, see you there. Regards.
