The pair are to spar again in the build-up to Frampton’s third professional outing in Derry on November 6.
Hamilton is also warming up for a big bout in Holland on the 21st November on the Ernesto Hoost ShowTime Promoted event.
Frampton’s coach Gerry Storey said: “Gary gave Carl exactly the type of spar he needed. He could hit and take a hit and I am pleased with the way Carl is developing.
“I have asked Gary to come back this week and I am have no doubt lads will become regular sparring partners in the future.”
Hamilton’s coach, the four-time world kickboxing champ Billy Murray, said: “Gary jumped in with Carl at a few hours notice and they both got a good work-out. The kid can hit hard - he’s one of the toughest super-bantams I have ever seen - his left hook is lethal. Gary is a bigger guy, supremely fit and carries a belter of a left hook too but he agreed Carl had real punch-power.”
Former World Champion Barry McGuigan is tipping his Super Bantamweight protégé Carl Frampton to follow in his footsteps by reaching the very top in the sport. The “Clones Cyclone” is now managing a stable of boxers himself and he’s very excited about Belfast man Frampton who will have his third pro fight on the undercard of Paul McCloskey’s European title challenge at the Meadowbank Sports Arena in Magherafelt on Friday, November 6th..
