Frampton looked visibly frustrated, and sometimes angry, as he was dealt low-blow after low-blow in the second and third rounds. There were two points deducted from Gonzalez Jr, in the third and eighth rounds.
In a post fight interview - Carl Frampton said; he struggled to make the super-bantamweight prior to his successful IBF title defence against Alejandro Gonzalez Jr in Texas and may move up to featherweight.
"I need to sit down with my team to re-evaluate where I go from here. I had a lot of weight to take off on the day of the weigh-in. Too much. More than ever. I just maybe did it wrong," said the Belfast man, who was speaking alongside his trainer Shane McGuigan.
The Northern Irishman, 28 year-old Frampton, may have been knocked down twice in his opening round but fought back well to earn a comprehensive points victory.
