Two #ProKick #fighters in #England: I’d like to thanks the promoter Chris Bladon for the invite to his event and for the hospitality shown & given to myself and our team, in most parts, quality work Chris.
It was really nice to see old friends I haven’t seen for a very long time too, Derrick Mann aka Dell-Man - who is doing a great job on developing his TV network for the fight game.
However that’s not why I was in England, I was there to help my fighters - one being a novice newbie, Charlene Best who give nothing but the Best. Charlene lost on a points verdict against Hayley Boot, both girls had a good fight, well done ladies.
Belfast’s WKN world kickboxing champion Cathy McAleer travelled to England bring with her an army of fight fans to see her try and unify the 55kg devision under Full-Contact rules.
McAleer shared the ring with two-time world full-contact champion Tina Harvey on Saturday 24th September 2016 at Hammerwich Cricket Club Burntwood Rd, Hammerwich as the Co/Main event on the Adrenaline promoted show.
The official decision Cathy McAleer lost on points. A full detailed account will be posted later when talks are completed with promoters & officials.

Great fight, Cathy was a great winner, no matter the result!!
I remember these things happening in the old days but thought it had been stamped out in the sport. This gives the sport a bad name.
I hope there is a governing body to take this to and have the result overturned.
Cathy looked graceful and reserved, as a lady should be, in her “defeat”.
There is always tomorrow!!!

I’ve honestly never seen anything like it in any combat sport before! At one point during the stoppage, I counted 9 people in the ring with 4 others on the edge of the ropes! Having watched it frame by frame, I did see Mr. Billy Murray ask where the world official was and tell the organisers that he wanted him in the ring right now! (During the very long stoppage in the 2nd) but his calls seemed to spark off a lot of finger pointing and shrugging of shoulders! Scorecards where collected and given back out!
it was abundantly clear that Cathys opponent had no desire to continue, so that should have been good enough to take as a retirement. The celebrating and the arrival of people into the ring with flags and congratulatory words for Harvey, before any verdict had been given, was appalling. Cathy and all of the travelling fans can hold their heads high and be proud that although, Cathy was robbed, they remained dignified.
Sadly the old saying, “Be magnaminous in victory and gracious in defeat” doesn’t seem to have found its way into all camps yet.
Here’s hoping for a little justice!

Cathy is a great World Champion, it was a real privilege to be in the corner of this true professional. She was simply amazing.
Charlene was fantastic, she showed real guts and true determination in the very pressurised environment.

Never have I been more proud to be a small part of this “controversial” experience, as PROKICK team members we are on hand to support the fighters win, lose or draw. Cathy held her self with such dignity and professionalism during the event and represented herself so well. It was just an unfair decision and to change the rules mid fight is somewhat of a kick in the stomach to someone who has dedicated herself 110% to training for the 7 rounds! Charlene best did herself proud! Can’t win them all but she is definitely a force to be reckoned with! I look forward to following her and Cathy to any future fights . NO 1 groupie!!!!

Very well put. ProKick’s shows look after all athletes weather home or away.stricter regulations need to be put into place to stop this from happening again. A 5:45 break in the second round witnessing scorecards being handed in, how could this fight be allowed to then continue. Cathy McAleer should have left with the title after second round stoppage. Well done to Charlene Best you where amazing #TeamProkick #Champions #madeinprokick #TrueChampion
