Northern Ireland's answer to the 'Karate Kid' is a multi world Martial art champion and former WKN Celtic & British kickboxing champion. McAleer will change styles for a chance of hitting the big time. A reoccurring eye injury benched the Kickboxing sensation which threatened to put an end to her competitive career. Now, she has the all clear and is raring to get back in the thick of it:
"Cathy, jumped at this chance to fast-tack herself right to the top in the Lightweight division. Said coach and former world champion Billy Murray. Cathy has always punched well above her weight, as we've seen her do in her fights and recently in training and sparring at the ProKick gym, she has been back with us for over a year now and shows and real hunger for the competitive side of the sport."
Cathy has helped double World champion, Belfast's Ursula Agnew and European champion Samantha Robb prepare for championship matches, and showed she can hold her own and mix it up with the very best in the world.
I'm really excited about Cathy's return to the world of Kickboxing, Cathy has unfinished business in this sport, she is unfulfilled and wants to complete her destiny - to become a World Kickboxing Champion.... her time in NOW!" to fulfill
