A special celebration of young filmmaking talent will take place at Odyssey Cinemas, Belfast, at 7pm, on 19th November, at which films made by young people will be premiered.

Cinemagic has engaged with young people from across Northern Ireland over the last 12 months, mentoring and guiding them in the processes of filmmaking.

Projects that will be showcased include Cinemagic and AES ‘In The Community’ supported by Arts and Business Northern Ireland, Cinemagic ‘Reel Frontiers’ films supported by the International Fund for Ireland, Phoenix Gas ‘Business in The Community’, and Cinemagic International Film Camp’s 2013 film ‘Punch’, made by 20 young people from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and USA with the help of local communities in Belfast and Prokick Gym who invested a lot of time in the location management.

Other film projects made with the support of Cinemagic include the NI Broadband ‘Supershort’ Film Challenge, which gave young writers the chance to see their scripts come to life, the Cancer Focus ‘Schools Health Education Package’ (SHEP) which aims to encourage young people to adopt healthy lifestyles, and a film literacy project with Childrens Books Ireland, which gave participants an insight to story development and book to film adaptations.

The evening will allow everyone involved in the projects to come together and see their final films on the cinema screen and network with other young filmmakers.
