The ProKick fighters had fun raising money for Comic Relief along with Mark Lima from Citybeat radio
Comic Relief Fun Day
It was unlucky Friday the 13th for ProKick fighters Gary Hamilton, Mark Bird and Ian Young as the trio headed to Castle Court shopping centre in the heart of Belfast City Centre to take part in a charity fund-raiser for Comic Relief.
The champion kickboxers helped raise money for the charity by stripping to their shorts and receiving spray tan treatment from tanning company Vita Liberato and there was no short supply of fans to cheer them on. Highlights were on BBC 1.
Online the ProKick guys helped to raise £1’285 with much more being donated at the tanning event, a grand total will be forwarded shortly from the organisers.
Money raised through Comic Relief helps many people world wide - from helping a child growing up with domestic violence, a dad living with mental health problems or a lonely older person with dementia living down the road in the UK, to supporting orphans and desperately poor communities in Africa – your cash really does make a difference to their lives.

Mark can be found everyday at Gone Fishin, Carrick…
Love it, free advertising too..thankyou
Really good article on Stuart Jess and shows the real positive image of the sport, and 3rd time lucky..yep i reckon so..Unluckily for stuart the kick came as he was down and although unintentional it was an illegal kick..But as the sport does pormote good sportmanship the 3rd opportunity has been made and shows good ties with clubs the world over..
The comic relief focus is really good and also shows that prokick does its bit for any charity and shows we are always up for anything…
Kens article shows our span of enthusiasim for the sport all across Ireland and shoes good relations between clubs and its always good to have a training session from another coach to point out errors or help improve.
I think its great that if a kickboxer even came here on holiday they would have access to the prokick gym to keep up on their training…were else would ya get it.
We’ve already had guys from france last month..
Now Stuart Jess in lisbon..!!!
I could do with a wee break…lol
Thanks for the write up Mr Murray…
