Nate Diaz is on top of the world after stopping Conor McGregor by-way of tap-out at UFC 196 at the MGM Las Vagas. McGregor suffered his first UFC defeat - and only the third in his in fight career - on a night of UFC shockers. Nate Diaz beat the Dubliner by submission in the second round having been the underdog at Las Vegas match.
McGregor, getting choked by Nate Diaz was surprising. What do we know now; we know that McGregor should stay miles away from 170 lbs devision. Nate Diaz is good but not the top of the this division. Robbie Lawler would be much stronger and with an all-round game. McGregor showed weak on the ground - he has great stand-up but not enough for the top UFC MMA fighters.
Did he get his tactics wrong or just believed in his own hype? He will be back and I hope with a more humble and less arrogant approach.
Where could the Conor McGregor be best? Lightweight. And that’s where he should probably fight next. Good Luck Conor!
Meanwhile, Holly Holm’s first defence of her title - won against Ronda Rousey last year - ended in defeat to Miesha Tate.
