The WKN world office are proud of their negotiations to put this fight on for this WKN World Super fight at 66kg between champion Bruce Codron and Northern Ireland's former world champion Gary Hamilton. Frenchman Codron is a two time world champion in the 64.400kilo division and is the current European champion were Belfast's Gary Hamilton had 3 successful defences of his lightweight 60kilo title.
The smart money says the winner may get a crack against Samir Mohammed just four weeks later - however this is unofficial, Billy Murray pictured here with Erick Romeas and his son jr Romeas who is following in his fathers work as a promoter.
If Gary really empresses tonight who knows - could it be Hamilton Vs Samir II.?
More on this later.
Hamilton's coach Murray feels throught it was a big ask to jump into the 66kilo division which is 3 weights above his normal championship weight but now I'm a lot happier Codron hit the scares at 65.8kg and gary 65k on the dot. both fighters were 1 kilo under the 66.7kg division. "However Hamilton is getting older and big and stronger, this is going to be a great fight - I know Gary can bring this home" said Murray
"He is naturally getting heavier and that was the main problem with his last couple of outings. The weight has not been right and Hamilton has struggled to make it. Hopefully this will be a defining moment for the kid from Belfast who has been at the ProKick gym from 15 years of age."
The event is promoted in the French City of Mazan by Mr David Blanc in agreement with the WKN France, WKN representative is Habib Bakir.
Well done Mr Blanc to you and your team the weigh-ins and the press conference were superb
