The Ballynahinch Father of five was to re-challenge for the crown he lost against Londoner Scott Byrans back in June at the Thai-Tanic event at the Holiday Inn in Belfast.

The 32 year-old was in the last round of his final sparring session in preparation for his championship match set for London this Sunday the 30th September.

Davy did not say to anyone that he got hurt in sparring, during or after the session; said coach Murray. "That's the type of him, he just gets on with it. But it wasn’t until well into the next day that the popular Foster called me to say he'd been to hospital and that his big toe was broken in a couple of places and that he would still like to take the fight."

Unfortunately, Foster will have to wait until he is fully recovered before thinking of a ring return. But there will be no shortage of help at the Foster house-hold as there are 5 practising nurses on hand to aid his recovery, 'his FIVE lovely daughters'.
