Boxing legend and frampton's manager Barry McGuigan believes it’s going to be a big year for 'The jackal' after his emphatic and impressive knockout of Kris Hughes in his Commonwealth Super-Bantamweight title defence on Saturday January 28th in York Hall.
In a recent interview with Matchroom Boxing, McGuigan stated that Frampton’s spectacular seventh round KO against tough opponent Hughes could even be a contender for knockout of the year.
‘The Jackal’s’ manager stated that the 24 year-old Belfast born sensation was "Brilliant that night at the York Hall in Bethnal Green and handled the pressure well.” This was Frampton's first defence of the belt he won against tough Australian Mark Quon on the undercard of McCloskey Vs Prescott last year in Belfast's Odyssey arena.
The former World Champion also disclosed he had a “very interesting meeting” with matchroom Sport's Eddie Hearn and that some “big news about Frampton will be released at the end of the week.”
