Former World Champion and Frampton's mamanger, Barry McGuigan is confident that Frampton can defeat Martinez and become a major belt holder in what will be just just his eleventh professional fight.

McGuigan quoted, 'We have great respect for Kiko. He is a lovely lad. He is a big puncher and a much improved fighter, but we are 100% confident Carl Frampton will beat him.'

Frampton himself commented, “I respect this guy. It’s going to be the toughest fight of my career, professional or amateur, but I’ve been training for it. It’s probably the biggest night of boxing Belfast has seen in years, a big opportunity for me. It’s a European title, a big title. Honestly, I’d say right now I’m just shy of world level but I want to get there one day and this title and defending it is going to help me get to the top.”

Does the 24 year old Belfast prospect have what it takes to bring home the belt and get his name shot onto the world stage? Find out on Septemer 10th.
