Frampton's manager and former World Champion, Barry McGuigan has told Irish boxing promoter Brian Peters to get in touch if he wants to make the European title fight between Kiko Martinez and Carl Frampton for Belfast in September.
Peters initially offered the Belfast bamtamweight boxer a shot at the Spanish fighter
earlier in the year, but Irish boxing legend, McGuigan turned it down as he thought the conditions of the match up weren't suitable.
McGuigan, Having re-looked over the situation and discussed the fight with Frampton and
Gerry Storey, is confident that Frampton can defeat Martinez and
become a major belt holder in what will be just just his eleventh professional fight.
McGuigan quoted, 'We have great respect for Kiko. He is a lovely lad. He is a big puncher
and a much improved fighter, but we are 100% confident Carl Frampton
will beat him.'
