The pair underwent an intensive training session, first up in Kickboxing conducted by kicking world featherweight champion Gary Hamilton then the pair had a kick off with a ball, this time the tipster was Irish Leauges top goal scorer Glentoran's Gary Hamilton. (and with a Linfield ball at that)

WKN World Kickboxing Champion Gary Hamilton shows Glentoran footballer Gary Hamilton how to punch"It's been a great day for me as I wanted to meet Gary Hamilton, my namesake for years" said the featherweight world champion "Even though he is a Glen man and I support the Blue's we've got loads in common. He's fast he's a striker and he is a good looking guy, in a mans way of course. Or should I say he's got Charisma but he should, after all he is a Hamilton."

The Glentoran manager Millar, was keen to get his full-timers back to basics, he had this to say: “I wanted something different for the players again this season, especially the full-time players - I saw an improvement in their fitness last time the boys where at ProKick,”

He went on to say. “I asked Billy about the possibility of training players and he put the whole thing together without a fuss. I really enjoyed the session last time out and the players did too. There is a fun side to it too but I think the players knew by the end of the hour they had been through a good routine. “It’s a long-term thing I’m looking at. I want to add variety to training and I know kickboxing will give the players a different kind of fitness and interest.”

Glentorans Gary Hamilton holds the pad for WKNs world Kickboxing champion Gary HamiltonHamilton, a former Portadown star moved to Glentoran last year under the direction of manager Paul Millar "I'm really enjoying the time with Glentoran and that's clear to be seen with my performance as Irish leagues top goal scorer so far.

"My manager has introduced different styles of training methods and I've really enjoyed the kickboxing side and so have the rest of our squad who attend Prokick classes. It's great to do the kickboxing without taking the blows, I've really enjoyed it.

"And it was icing on the cake when I met world champion Gary Hamilton even though he supports the Blue's I'll not hold that against him. I think once I get a few more classes under my belt I may even put an official challenge for his title.

"All kidding aside, I was holding the pads for Gary and he's got awesome power in his legs, after the kickboxing we had a kick around today with the ball and those legs were definatley made for kicking."
