Australian Alan McCabe met the love of his life to be, Northern Irish girl Geraldine O’Reilly at a family barbeque down under in Queensland and little did they know at that meeting their lives would change dramatically and take them across the globe on a few occasions. They have now chose to settle back in Brisbane, Australia and the couple jetted off this week to begin their new life.

The pair were smitten by the kickboxing bug early on from a 6 week beginners course, IT specialist Geraldine tells the story “A girl I worked with had completed a 6 week beginner kickboxing course at Prokick and she recommended it to us."

“We were told it was a very different and fun way to get fit - that it was brilliant and to give it a go.”

So much so that her brother Danny and wife Tracey also joined “We’ve all taken to the sport in a big way and are hooked. We’ve even undergone an extensive kickboxing instructor’s course, elevated to green belt and encouraged more family members to join.”

Alan and Geraldine said their farewells at the weekend to members of the ProKick gym and vowed to keep the training going and hopefully set up a link between Northern Ireland and Australia, ProKick style. Alan suggested teaching classes via the World Wide Web by web cam as one way, other suggestions were to fly out a team of kickboxers from Northern Ireland for a 6 week beginners course on the Gold Coast.

“With a total of six from the O’Reilly family training at the ProKick Gym it really was a family affair.” Said Coach Billy Murray “The O’Reilly’s and McCabe’s will be sadly missed as they participated in all aspects of the gym, from the kickboxing events to social occasions, seminars, grading’s and training.

"Everyone at ProKick would like to wish them a healthy, happy and prosperous life together. And we have no doubt that our paths will cross again.”
