Saki from Turkey is only 24 years-of-age – he was a late substitute who came into the tournament with only four K-1 bouts to his name, fought through three opponents and claimed victory and a shoot at the final in Japan in December .

All bouts were fought under Official K-1 Rules (3Min. x 3R. Hawaii K1 attracted a crowd of 8,807 at the Stan Sheriff Centre in Honolulu. Hawaiian hero and former sumo wrestler Akebono was the event's co-promoter.
