Although flights and hotel have been booked and paid for the Belfast based fighter will have to wait once more for another shot at a super welterweight title.
Stuart said today “My training has never been going as well; I’ve been on the weight for weeks now.” He added, “Everything has been going really well for me and I was thinking that something would have go wrong.”
The WKN world office have sent the Portuguese a stern email requesting a full explanation.
Coach Billy Murray also expressed his disappointment for his fighter, “I’m so disappointed because we moved the event from November 15th to December 6th to suit the world title rematch.
"Stuart has never once let up on his training since his first world title shot. If ever there was a fighter who deserved this on determination alone it would be Stuart.”
It’s back to the drawing board now as to when and where this rematch will happen. ProKick will keep you updated on the news as it happens.
In the meantime Murray is pulling all the stops out to get Jess on the card.
