The evening was to celebrate Jackie's 40th year in television along with his 70th birthday. The evening was aptly hosted by Fullerton's prodigy and follow broadcaster Mr Eamonn Holmes who set the piece for a special and fitting evening to honour special man.

Sporting greats from far and wide where in attendance and if not there is person they left a video message.  Martin O'Neill, Pat Jennings alone former Liverpool and Rangers manager Graeme Souness just to name a few all helped set the night by telling their own stories about how professional the great man Fullerton is.

Jackie Fullerton received an MBE for services to the community and journalism.
