This will be Smith’s third bout in the professional ranks and a massive step-up in class when he will face the tough Romanian. Tomescu has mixed in good circles by winning domestic to European Pro titles and has shared the ring with notably, the WKN world champion Daniel The Jet Zahra in Malta back in November 2013 just a month before Zahra defended his kickboxing WKN crown to our very own kickboxing supremo Gary Hamilton at the Ulster hall on KICKmas 2013

None of this fazes Smith, said Billy Murray, Smith’s coach:
"Johnny is just off a good win, a 3rd round TKO away from home in the Gran Canaria on April 16th. He hasn’t stopped since his pro debut against Canadian Samuel Debalke at KICKmas 2015. He is so committed as a fighter and grounded with a good head on his shoulders - he seems to have found the right combination between his work, family life and his kickboxing career. If he stays on track we could see SwiftSmith becoming a big name in the fight game. But first we must take care of Tomescu which is four weeks away today."
