Hi
Good news re Spongs injury, he underwent an operation in Florida which doctors say was 100 % successful, it was a clean break of his right tibia and following a period of some rehab he should be able to resume his kick boxing career in around 6 months time. So come 2015 and he should be back fighting at the top level again. Regards.

Hi
Glory 15 World Kickboxing, Light Heavyweight Tournament Championship Final was between the World Ranked No1 and 2 as Suranams Tyrone Spong faced off against Turkeys Gokhan Saki.
The Turkish crowd got behind their man and the eagerly anticipated final took a sudden and unfortunate turn when it ended abruptly in the first round after just 1 min 30 sec as Spong broke his right leg after kicking Saki, in a display of sportsmanship Saki instantly went to Spongs aid and cradled his head before medics made it into the ring.
Spongs injury had echoes of that sustained by Jones in his recent UFC fight, it was like watching a rerun, Spong made a low kick to Sakis left leg and Saki turned his leg out in defence and Spongs right leg looked to snap just above the ankle. Hopefully it will not be too serious a break , Spong now faces a prolonged spell out of the ring and I would like to wish him well and hope that he makes a full recovery and is able to resume his Kick Boxing career. Regards.
