The company has a wonderful relationship with kickboxing in Northern Ireland and Billy Murray is delighted to have been able to set up the unique partnership with Schwarzkopf Northern Ireland territory manager, Brendan Thompson. To carry it on now and elevate it to huge new level is a tremendously exciting proposal.

Schwarzkopfs Brendan Thompson a keen kickboxer at Prokick A keen Kickboxer himself, Thompson said he was keen that Schwarzkopf sponsored the event after the hugely positive ‘Brawl on the Wall’ event in Derry City/Londonderry last year. Thompson also said he was very impressed by the ethos of Prokick, the gym behind the promotion – especially their focus on bringing communities and people together. “I am very amazed with what Prokick has done over the years,” he said.

“I have been to many of their events and have seen the huge number of people from different cultures and countries that they bring together. Schwarzkopf has a similar universal appeal and a seal of absolute quality.

“For me it’s not just about kickboxing it’s about the common goal that we should share – peace and harmony, which I know that sounds bizarre when there are two people hammering ten bells out of each other; but the thing that comes across to me is the respect that the two competitors have for each other.”

Schwarzkopf's Brendan Thompson with WKN Kickboxing president Stephane Cabrera Hair-raising: In Thailand the home of kickboxing, fighters entering the ring are frequently ornately dressed and presented. They are like strutting peacocks, ready to throw off their fine livery in combat. And Prokick will be no different, as each of the home fighters will enter the ring with hair wonderfully styled by the Schwarzkopf artistic team.

Each new walk to the ring will have ever more elaborate styling. It will be a wonderful clash of high style and sporting at its very best. It will be incredible drama.

The undercard for the ‘KICKmas Box Spectacular’ will see fighters from Germany, Switzerland, France, Scotland and England against 7 of Prokick and Ireland’s top fighters along with the first Irish K1 style super heavyweight winner takes all - 4 men will enter and only one will claim the crown.

Tickets go on sale on Monday and will be available online at http://www.prokickshop.com or through the Waterfront Hall Box office priced £15 to £50 for ringside.
