This week the competition was thrown wide open to a group of new starts who have all donned the gloves, not in earnest but in fun. Beginners right up to junior black belts all took part in a Saturday morning ‘Wide Awake Club’ competition, geared for kids.

Prokick coach Eddie Salmon said: “The children learning the art of kickboxing love the ‘Prokick Says’ fun days. They look forward to it because it gives them an opportunity to put into practice what they learn in class. “We wanted to give the young members an opportunity to practice, mixing competition with fun. "The idea stems from a game Mr Billy Murray invented which we all have played for many, many years at the gym, ‘Prokick Says’ is our version of Simple Simon Says. “Everyone is a winner and everyone goes home with a medal. It’s important to us at Prokick Gym that children learn about self-discipline, self-defence and grow up in a respected and disciplined environment. Our motto is Truth, Discipline and Respect.” 

This months competition was a booming success as the standard of the kickboxing mad kids increase. Kickboxing kids from all over the country took part in the initiative that allows children to put their kickboxing skills on display in a friendly and competitive arena. The spread of ability was incredible and great to see, but a few winners did emerge.  

Winner of this weeks Brooklands Cup was 6 year old Yellow belt Conner Verner.
