Rogan was set to fight for the WBU Heavyweight title on the same card against Panamanian Luis Andres Pineda but the British Boxing Board Of Control refused to recognise the belt and therefore would not sanction the fight. This came as a great disappointment not onyl to Rogan but to all of the fight fans that were looking forward to seeing a heavyweight world title fight in Belfast.

There was then talks about Rogan travelling to The USA to challenge for the belt but decided against that and remained focused on finding an opponent for the Belfast event and now he has in the form of old rival and fellow Commonwealth title challenger Matt Skelton. The two fighters clashed for the prestigious belt back in 2009 and the Belfast fighter stopped the former K1 fighter in the 11th round. This time Rogan knows that not only will the Englishman be coming for the win but he will be seeking revenge.

Rogan commented, “It could definitely be viewed as a fight where both our careers are on the line. He is 43 and I am 40. We are both coming back after a year out with injury and are we are both at a cross roads. I am not planning to loose though. I am going to do what I do best get in the ring and fight. I will put in place all I have learned of Bernardo Checa over the last two months and beat Skelton again.”
