Marcos Maidana was the first opponent 'Team Dudey' approached for the showdown and alongside Judah, a host of other big names from across the pond and further afield have turned down ofers to fight McCloskey on Irish soil until he finds himself being able to offer more lucrative deals to the travelling fighters.

Kathy Duval, Judah's promoter, stated in an interview that, "While I had a conversation about Judah and McCloskey with Barry Hearn about a week ago, nothing really came of it. Barry was suggesting that Judah come to Ireland to fight. Based on our discussion, I do not believe that such a bout would make financial or competitive sense for Judah at this time"

McCloskey continues his search for World title glory but until he can land on his feet and win fights against opponents who can draw him and his team bigger pay days, it just doesn't seem that the fights will happen. This does not seem to deterr McCloskey in any way and he continues his search for an opponent for next year's show.
