Prescott claims that McCloskey is an awkward fighter and his team are well prepared for anything that McCloskey has to offer. He stated, “We have a very good game plan. We know McCloskey will be on his bicycle
throughout the fight but we will break him down. If he runs I will be
winning the rounds, landing clean punches and coming forward. I will
knock him out. No question. If he moves I am confident I will break him
down come round 10,11,12. It will be very hard for McCloskey next
Saturday,”
McClokey has hiself admitted that he has an awkward style but that he is still a boxer and can (and will) land good, clean, hard shots that will earn him the shot at the title he has so desperately been seeking in his career.
Both of the fighters have fought current Light Welterweight World Champion Amir Khan, Prescott winning back in 2008 with a 1st TKO and McCloskey losing to a controversial 6th Round stoppage and Amir Khan states that he thinks McCloskey will walk away the victor.
The fight is scheduled to take place this Saturday 10th September in The Odyssey Arena, Belfast with full supporting under card.
