ProKick.com had previously reported regarding speculations about a match between the Dungiven based boxer and IBF World Champion Zab Juddah but as the news that Amir Khan will now face the American, McCloskey and his camp had to look for a different move forward.
McCloskey's next battle will be on home soil for the WBA Interim Light-Welterweight Title this September 10th in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast. His opponent is yet to be named but a title win at home could possibly be just what McCloskey needs to get back in the race for world title glory.
Belfast rising star Carl Frampton is scheduled to be the main undercard bout and he himself is currently also in title talks of a possible European title match against Spain's Kiko Martinez.
