David Caldwell, Woodhouse's manager confirmed that an offer from Matchroom Sport's Eddie Hearn was received and accepted and that his fighter, who also happens to be the former Birmingham FC player, claimed  Woodhouse desperately wants the fight but any formal arrangement has yet to be finalised by promoter Warren. When recently interviewed, Caldwell exclaimed, “I’m delighted to reveal that Eddie has made a great offer for Curtis to fight WBA No.6 ranked Paul McCloskey in Belfast in April and we are ready for the challeng.”

From the other corner, when McCloskey was asked about the potentia dust-up he stated, "The offer tick’s all the right boxes as far as myself and Curtis are concerned, it’s a career high pay day in a high profile fight televised by the UK’s No.1 television sports broadcaster. The risk versus reward makes sense."
