This was the first time the new budding kickboxing competitors donned the full protective equipment required for sparring. Everything from headguards, gumshields and shin and foot guards were worn as the new bunch prepared for their first taste of the sparring aspect of fight preparation. Some looked nervous even as the equipment was being put on but there were a few surprising sparks of talent from some of the new guys that caught the eye of some of the more experienced fighters and not forgetting the ever watchful eye of Mr Murray himself.

Just like any other fighter's class, sprints were brought into tonight's training and again some pleasant surprises were reflected in the run times. Tonight was a definitive learning curve for the new members, some of who will (hopefully) be back at the gym bright and early from 6am Boot Camp tomorrow morning.
