Fitness fanatic Peter, 26, left his kickboxing duties behind after lifting the British title in 2005, in favour of an once-in-a-lifetime trip across Australia. But after wetting his appetite for the fight game earlier this year again, thanks to a K1 bout in Glasgow, the former Carrick man who now lives in Co.Down is determined to rule again at home.
A real road-runner, Rusk completed the Dublin marathon in 2010 on top of three half-marathons and a list of 10k races. As if that wasn’t enough, this year he ran the Rome marathon less than 24 hours after a bout – and is now competing in triathlons across Ireland, with an aim of entering the gruelling Ironman event soon.
An aircraft engineer, Peter expects to be flying high on October 30th after his 16th fight.
He said: “I am in good condition now; my training has been top notch. While I had a great time travelling, I do feel I might have timed it better. I left behind the British title that I had worked so hard for and allowed my discipline and fitness to go out the window.
“But now I that I have a goal again I will not be wandering anywhere beyond the Prokick Gym. I am determined to get another shot at winning the British belt again; that would be a great personal achievement and it would be good for ProKick too.”
Peter will be joined by Prokick fighters Darren McMullan, Paul Best, David Foster, Karl McBlain, Gary Fullerton, Johnny Smith and Ursula Agnew on the October 30th fancy dress bill.
Limited tickets remain and are priced at £20 and £30, along with limited £50 VIP ringside tickets that come with a champagne reception, Fright Night goodie bag and post-fight party invitation.

Peter Rusk - Running Man
Peter Rusk won’t be running when he faces French fighter Franck Langlasse at Belfast’s Hilton Hotel on October 30th. Peter dubbed as the Running Man because he just LOVES running - the much travelled former British Cruiser Weight Full-Contact champion is hoping to get his hands on more domestic honours after a spell out of the ring due to work commitments – and marathons.
