What makes the Seven Wonders event more remarkable is a contender in each discipline will arrive from all over Ireland – with the majority from kickboxing figurehead Billy Murray’s celebrated ProKick Gym in Belfast.

Present at the launch was K1 and kickboxing legend Ernesto Hoost – the man they call simply, Mr Perfect and the winner of the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Irish Kickboxing Awards show.

A glittering array of local talent was also present, amongst them evergreen world WKN featherweight champion, Belfast’s Gary Hamilton, who came face to face with his December opponent, wily Englishman Marty Cox Jnr.

Other big names at the launch were:

WKN British professional full-contact champion Alexander White (Scotland), WKN World Amateur Super Middleweight Ken Horan (Galway) Mark Hennessy WKN Amateur Kickboxing British & European Champion from Northern Ireland,and WKN Amateur European Kickboxing Super Welterweight champion Ian Young (NI).

Contenders Mark Bird, Gary Fullerton and David Bird were also present.

There was a unique meeting between two top Irish heavyweights who will take part in a mini 4 man K1 style Super heavyweight Tournament Northern Ireland’s James Gillen came face to face with Dylan Scally of the Republic of Ireland.

The launch was held at Belfast Holiday Inn, the official event partner and longtime supporter of kickboxing for the Schwarzkopf sponsored event.
