Hearn has approached several of the standing World Champions, trying to secure the Dungiven southpaw stylist a shot at bringing home a World Belt to our shores once more but to no avail. Talks fell through with Maidana, Petersen and Timothy Bradley amongst others mainly, it seems, for purely financial reasons.
When interviewed about the talks Hearn exclaimed, "We exhausted all world title options. We had talks with Marcos Maidana, Timothy Bradley, Lammont Peterson and others. I offered them the kind of money that would have ensured I would have lost a few quid and they asked for double that. It is a financial impossibility."

Prizefighter Coming To Belfast?
Prizefighter Boxing Tournament could possibly be making it's way to The Odyssey Arena, Belfast this year via Matchroom Sports kingpin Eddie Hearn. Hearn, also the promoter of Dungiven title chaser Paul 'Dudey' McCloskey had failed to secure a lucrative World Title bout for the former European Champion and claims that a Prizefighter tournament with a co-main event of McCloskey Vs Michael Katsidis could not only bring big time boxing back to Belfast but keep McCloskey on the path to a World Title Shot.
