Hi
Good luck to everyone competing in Geneva, I look forward to doing some Pad Work with you at the Senior Classes.
On a lighter note, you know the old saying ” If at first you don’t succeed” spare a thought for, no !, raise a glass, applaud and admire the determination and dedication to his Sport of Robin Deakin. Never heard of him ?
Robin made his Boxing debut in 2006 and won against Shaun Walton, no doubt he dreamt of great things to come, however, it was not to be, he lost his next 51, yes , 51 fights, was stripped of his licence by the BBBC so he took a year out to reflect on his next step. Fast forward , last weekend, Robin made a comeback at York Hall , London , it was packed, he has become a bit of a cult figure , fighting under the Malta Boxing Commission he faced Latvia’s Deniss Kornilov and he WON, yep, he WON. Well done Robin. time to retire mate, quit while you’re a WINNER. So, lets hear it for Robin, a Brilliant story and someone who deserves our Respect and is a fine example of that much loved British Tradition, a good loser.
So, Team Pro Kick, remember Robin, whatever happens at the World Games there’s always another day. Good Luck to all of you. Regards.
Brian
