Little wonder then that Karl and Johnny are known at the famous east-Belfast gym as ‘the Odd Couple’. Their coach, the former world champ Billy Murray, said: “Karl and Johnny are real talents in kickboxing and will reach the top together, no doubt. They seem to enjoy challenging one another and that creates a competitive atmosphere in the gym.

“In a short space of time, they have both fought in Japan, Switzerland, Ireland, France and England.”
Karl will face Holland’s Robin Venken while Johnny will showdown with Aberzak Hasan. Both local fighters are coming off the back of wins and Murray is confident they will progress again next Sunday.

He added: “These two are serious contenders for domestic titles next year and so I expect them to do well on the Fright Night bill.

“They face tough opponents; guys who I have seen in action before and they will be coming to Belfast expected to win.”

Karl and Johnny will be joined by Prokick fighters Darren McMullan, Paul Best, David Foster, Gary Fullerton, Ursula Agnew and now Stuart Jess on the October 30 fancy dress bill.

Limited tickets remain and are priced at £20 and £30, along with limited £50 VIP ringside tickets that come with a champagne reception, Fright Night goodie bag and post-fight party invitation.
