The Belfast Prizefighter winner and former Commonwealth champion, Rogan has been the number 1 contender for the belt for some time and was initially scheduled to face Robert ‘The Nightmare’ Helenius before the chance to fulfil his world title dream.

Rogan was then confirmed by the European Boxing Union as the man to fight Pulev for the belt in Munich on July 16th after Sauderland Event’s won the purse bids.

However, Rogan claims he believed the fight was to be scheduled for later in the month and the change of date didn’t give him enough time to prepare. As a result ‘The Entertainer’, who has registered two wins since his return from serious neck injury, has decided not to take the fight.

When asked about the withdrawl, Rogan exclamed “The EU title fight is off. They changed the date and moved it forward. It didn’t allow me anytime to prepare.”

The EBU have since confirmed that they have informerd Sauderland that a new date must be scheduled and the Belfast fighter is still the number 1 contender.
