The event was funded by the City of Xiamen and saw a capacity of 3,000 spectators which packed into the arena to witness the heavyweights go to war.
It was in the middle of the 4th round when Bonner landed some big and telling shots with hands, kicks and knees with the speed of a middleweight fighter.
At the end of the 4th round the former Scottish based fighter landed some more good punches followed by another flying knee to the mid section dropping Maiorino which finished him off and the referee stopping the fight.
Steve crowned the new World Champion and an instant hero as fans flocked to the ring for autographs and photograph, with his trainer Phon Martdee who was ecstatic with the result. “Steve is the next big thing in Australia, I think he can take on the best and come out best; you will soon see more of the big man Steve Bonner”.
Steve Bonner recently beat Bruce Macfie’s Shane Tilyard by TKO round 2 at Battle Collossal IX winning the prestigious WBC National Title on March 27, 2010. And before moving to Perth two years ago he was also the WKN Celtic, British & European Intercontinental title holder.

British born Steve Bonner is the new WBC Super Heavyweight Champion Steve Bonner travelled to Xiamen, China on May 22, 2010 and faced Brazilian K-1 Star Eduardo "Morpheus" Maiorino for the WMA (World Muay Thai Association) Super Heavyweight World Title.
