Jess was scheduled to fight on a November 15 show in Belfast but that occasion was moved to the festive month when Murray clenched a deal to have the champion Jose Oliviera to meet again.

There needs to be an agreed settlement between the two. When they first met earlier this year Oliviera or Jess were awarded the belt in controversial circumstances. While many agreed that Jess lost their first clash - the champion himself conceded that he had struck the Belfast man while he lay on the canvas following a knock-down.

The second time they clashed a split-decision in Portugal left an unease between the two combatants.

Now the Portuguese fighter will defend the title with Jess confident there will be a clear decision in Belfast next month.

“Not many fighters get four chances at winning a world title and I am grateful that Oliviera is coming back to Belfast to put the belt on the line. I don’t intend for there to be any doubt this time around. I have worked hard for this shot and I will take it.”

As a result of Jess’ title fight, the Next Generation bill will now fit as the undercard on December 6 at the Holiday Inn Belfast.
