Kongolo, is making his first fight back in the ring since he won the WKN European title in Villars-sur-Ollon last October 2012. Yoann Kongolo was out of action after he sustained an injury on his way to winning his title back in October 2012. The talented Swiss fighter fractured his arm whilst competing for his European title which required surgery - he is now fully recovered.
Kitchener who faces Kongola, is from Aberdeen, Scotland. This solid Scots is 30 years old and has a fight record of 21 victories, with 16 of those by knockout in his 25 fights. Kitchener has held Scottish, Celtic and British WKN titles and has been in martial arts from he was 17 years old.
Kitchener put a hold on his fight career to concentrate on his studies. Now he has decided to make ring return and not an easy one at that - against Yoann Kongolo.
For Kongolo, there is no room for errors as he takes a risk of damaging his arm and in case he is defeated the WKN will strip the Swiss fighter of his title. Kongolo coaches, Philippe and Eric Brélaz Mossière, have much to do on Friday to avoid any pitfalls.
Doors open 18:30. Tickets sold on site from CHF 20. -
