The WKN’s long wait was over for for an event back in London - since Ali-Jacko was the king of the square ring promotions there. Brothers Riyadh and Mohammed Al Azzawi topped the bill at the Porchester hall in London. The packed hall witnessed scenes of old as a full international fight card of kickboxing was on display. Top of the bill was England’s Riyadh Al Azzawi ( IRAK.UK) faced Poland’s world champion Tomasz Borowiec in what was dubbed by many as the fight of the night.

It was tit-for-tat war from round one to round twelve - Riyadh Al Azzawi is the current WKN British and European champion and showed why he was challenging for the world title - Al Azzawi showed the heart and courage of a true champion as he straggled to breathe, it was the result of a badly broken nose sustained in the early rounds.

That did not deter the British Iraqi who took the fight to the champion as he continued his quest for glory. Round 10 was a turning point in the fight that’s when Al Azzawi caught the Polish champion with a right hand putting him down for a count of eight – The fight went right to the end of the twelfth round.

It was a tense time as the judges took time to deliberated the verdict Finally the decision - Riyadh Al Azzawi received the nod from two judges to one who went for Tomasz Borowiec. Al Azzawi wins on a split decision.
