Joseph Millar And Mum New belter - IMAGE
Mum Karen Millar knows a thing or two about kickboxing as she was also a junior ProKicker. Karen, herself started when she was 6 years-old and went on to lift a Junior Black belt 8 years later. Her son Joseph may just go one better. He started at 5 years of age and just took his orange belt on Sunday July 8th.Well-done tough guy keep the good work up.
Sunday is meant to be the day of rest and spending it at home with the family. But not for these wannabe kickboxers from ProKick - Sunday July 8th was crunch time for some new kickboxers at the ProKick kickboxing HQ. The new high-kickers were put through a series of moves during an examination in an attempt to move to the next level in kickboxing excellence.
A grading is when Kickboxing students, non-contact and contact, are assessed through a series of levels / grades, with the base level being White Belt, through ten levels, finally reaching a Dan grade at black belt, which is equivalent, if you like, to a degree level in KickBoxing.
This type of achievement would take, on average, between six and eight years with a training regime of on average of three to four times a week.
